Superformed aluminum and the shapes it makes
Bentley uses superforming to produce panels with feature lines far sharper than conventional stamping allows. That is why a Continental GT's rear haunch looks the way it does, and it is also why a badly repaired one is so obvious: the crease is the signature, and a panel pulled back to approximately the right shape reads as wrong from thirty feet away.
Aluminum panel work happens in a separated area with dedicated tooling. Steel particles that land on aluminum embed in the softer metal and start galvanic corrosion, which surfaces as blistering under paint a year or two later, long after anyone would connect it to the repair. Straightening heat is measured rather than judged — aluminum permanently loses strength above its specified range while looking entirely normal — and aluminum work-hardens as it moves, which means the sequence of the repair matters as much as the technique.
Structural work is measured in three dimensions against the factory specification before anything is pulled, corrected with anchored sequential pulls, and re-measured until it reads within tolerance. The before-and-after printout goes in your file with the procedures we pulled for your VIN.
